Health, safety and accessibility

Ferry Boat Arts CIC holds public liability insurance covering £1,000,000. Evidence of insurance and the relevant enhanced DBS certificate is available to view on request.
We aim to provide a safe, welcoming learning environment, with appropriate supervision and precautions to reduce the risk of injury. Creative and outdoor activities may involve some unavoidable risks. Participants must follow safety instructions and use equipment appropriatel
Please tell us about any relevant health conditions, allergies, additional needs or access requirements before attending so we can discuss suitable support.
If you or your child experiences anxiety, please contact us beforehand, if you think it helpful. We can discuss ways to help, including providing photographs of the setting and session leader.
Please do not attend if you or your child is unwell with an illness that could spread to others. Following vomiting or diarrhoea, please wait until at least 48 hours after the last episode before attending.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or affects your statutory rights.
Clothing, belongings and artwork
Art Workshops and Muddy Makers can be messy. Children and adults should wear old clothing and footwear suitable for the activity and weather.
Stains and marks may occur during normal participation. Please avoid bringing valuable belongings.
Children must be appropriately supervised when using items made during our sessions at home. Please follow any care, use or safety instructions provided.
These conditions do not exclude our responsibility where loss, damage or injury results from our negligence or another breach of our legal duties.

Safeguarding and contact details

Ferry Boat Arts CIC has undertaken safeguarding training. We take concerns about the welfare of children and adults seriously and will share information with relevant services or authorities where necessary.
Please ensure we have accurate, current contact details, including emergency contacts and details of any adults authorised to collect your child.
For Stay & Play and other sessions requiring an accompanying adult, parents and carers remain responsible for supervising the children in their care throughout the session.

Privacy and communication

We collect the information needed to manage enquiries, bookings, payments, invoices and safe participation.
Booking confirmations and other essential messages are separate from marketing emails. You can choose whether to receive emails advertising future workshops and events, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information where necessary to deliver our services, process payments, meet legal obligations or respond to safeguarding concerns.
You may contact us to request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information. Some records may need to be retained for legal or other lawful purposes.
Our separate privacy notice explains how we use, store and protect personal information.

Workshop bookings and payments

·Places are confirmed only when payment has been received. We cannot hold unpaid places.
Workshop fees are payable through our website payment system or by bank transfer, as agreed.
After booking, you will receive a confirmation or welcome email. Please complete the form before when booking, it contains consent needed for session safety.
Please check your spam or junk folder. If you have paid but have not received confirmation, contact us before the workshop so we can check your booking.

Workshop cancellations

You may cancel a workshop booking for a full refund by contacting us at least seven days before the workshop.
For cancellations with less than seven days’ notice, or non-attendance, a refund is not normally available. Any amount retained will be limited to our actual losses, taking account of costs saved or the place being resold.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you cannot attend.
If Ferry Boat Arts CIC cancels a session, you may choose an alternative date agreed with us or a full refund for the cancelled session.
These terms do not affect any cancellation or refund rights you have by law.

Behaviour during sessions

We ask everyone to treat other participants, staff and the setting with respect.
If behaviour creates a safety risk or seriously disrupts a session, we may ask the participant to leave. Examples include harassment, bullying, intimidation or attending under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
We will consider additional needs and reasonable adjustments when responding to behaviour. Where safe and appropriate, we will discuss concerns with the participant or accompanying adult first.
Any decision about a refund will take account of the circumstances and applicable consumer rights.

1:1 workshops

Fees are payable by bank transfer.
Please complete your booking form before the first session.
If you cannot attend, please notify us as soon as possible. Missed sessions are not normally refunded, but any cancellation charge will be limited to our actual losses.
If Ferry Boat Arts CIC cancels a session, you may choose an alternative date agreed with us or a full refund for that session.

Birthday parties and community events

A £15 booking payment is required to secure the date. This is then taken from the balance due.
Fees are payable by bank transfer. The total price, balance payment deadline and cancellation arrangements will be confirmed before booking.
Once the booking payment has been received, we will send a welcome email and booking form. Please complete the form before the event.
If you cancel, any amount retained will reflect our actual losses, taking account of costs saved or the date being rebooked.
If Ferry Boat Arts CIC cancels the event, you may choose an alternative date agreed with us or a full refund.
Food and party bags are not included in birthday party packages.

Complaints

We aim to resolve complaints promptly and fairly. If you have a concern, please contact us as soon as possible, explaining what happened and how you would like us to help.
